Returns, and Your Rights
Cruel Lady at Red Scorpion Design is happy to comply with the Distance Selling Regulations, and the Sale of Goods Act. These apply within the UK only, but Cru extends them to her clients Worldwide as a courtesy:
If a piece arrives damaged, or in the unlikely event of it being faulty, you can return it within 7 days (14 days if sold outside the UK) for a full refund or replacement. Please email Cru in advance as a courtesy, and return by trackable means - UK Recorded, or International Signed For.
For bespoke or one-off pieces, your rights are the same for a full refund, although replacement is obviously not possible. However, you can email Cru to arrange repair and/or a partial refund if you prefer. Again, please ensure you return the piece by trackable means - UK Recorded, or International Signed For.
"I want my clients to be happy with their purchases, and to enjoy buying online, so I make every effort to describe what I sell precisely; especially important with vintage beads, and pieces made with vintage components. I don't use damaged or tatty beads or charms. Natural wear-and-tear due to age will be noted, so please read the description carefully before buying. I also photograph using as much detail as the web allows."
If you feel your purchase is significantly 'not as described', or you have changed your mind, email Cru immediately, and return the item, in its original condition and packaging, within 7 days (14 if sold outside the UK) by trackable means - UK Recorded, or International Signed For - for a refund of the item cost only. Refund of postage/shipping in this situation is at Cru's discretion, and within the terms of the Distance Selling Regulations and the Sale of Goods Act.
Data Protection Act
1) If paying with debit/credit cards, PayPal will send me the following information: your email address, your name, your postal address, and if you've included it in your PayPal special instructions, your telephone number. These will be stored on a secure machine, behind a firewall and protected by anti-virus software that is updated daily.
2) They will not be passed to any Third Party, and will only be used for contact between yourself and Cru/Red Scorpion Design if you have expressly given permission for further contact after the transaction is completed to the satisfaction of both parties; for example, if you've asked for updates on the latest designs/newsletters.
3) If paying by cheque, draft or postal order, I will hold these for no more than one working day before banking, and the account numbers and sort codes will not be stored. Name and address will be held until cheques have cleared for delivery purposes only. Same protection as 2) above, applies.
Cru's Committment & Safe Shopping
CruelLady/RedScorpionDesign will never ask you for any sensitive information, such as your Credit/Debit card number, bank account details or PIN number. If you receive an email, text or telephone call requesting these details from any online seller, treat them with the utmost suspicion, and contact the apparent sender first yourself.
Make sure, when you're paying on a site, before you enter your Debit/Credit card details, that the title bar starts 'https' instead of the normal 'http'. This means you're accessing a secure server, and anything you type in is encrypted and unreadable by everyone bar the checkout agent. Most browsers also display a little padlock icon too - in IE it's at the top, and in Firefox it's at the bottom of your browser.
