Dunnett Collection

April Update Two new Lymond earrings just finished, and I'm making advances in charms for a Lymond bracelet; quite how I'm going to blend the cornflower with raspberry, blackberry and peach I'm not sure, but you've given me a wealth of marvellous ideas - thanks to you all!

~*A series of jewellery designs*~ inspired by the 15th and 16th Centuries portrayed in the series of novels by Dorothy Dunnett - The Lymond Chronicles and The House of Niccolo. I've also included one or two pre-made pieces which have relevance.

Note on this Collection:
In creating these pieces, I've sought inspiration, rather than slavishly copying jewellery in the portraiture of the period, allowing the imagination of the reader (and wearer!) full rein.

The jewellery inspired by the Niccolo series is generally gold, and Venetian Murano glass features heavily, especially in red, as it dovetails neatly with the bowl Lady Dunnett was presented with, as well as Claes' passionate character!

I'm still working on the Lymond Collection, but the more Scottish-based theme begs silver and pewter, along with sapphire and cornflower blues, and chess imagery. Bill says I should use scorpions too - which chimes rather well with me! The Niccolo bracelet took a year to source, but as my supply contacts increase, I'm hoping to have a Lymond bracelet for you a little sooner.
